Drennan Lab welcomes five undergraduates for summer 2017

Five undergraduates are spending the summer of 2017 in the Drennan lab.  Newcomers are MSRP Bio student Gisele Andree, a rising junior at UMass Amherst majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry; HHMI EXROP student Luis Caldera Guzman, about to begin his senior year at UC Berkeley, where he majors in Bioengineering, and Materials Science & Engineering; and Amgen Scholar Dallas Fonseca, a rising senior at Ithaca College majoring in Biochemistry and Mathematics.  They join MIT UROP student Songela Chen, who has been part of the lab since January and this summer is supported by Energy UROP.  Songela is a Chemistry major, about to begin her junior year.  And returning for his second summer in the Drennan lab is Santiago Yori, who last year was an EXROP student and this summer is supported by EXROP Capstone.  Santi just graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University, and will begin a Ph.D. program in Molecular and Cell Biology this fall at UC Berkeley.

All five students work closely with mentors in the Drennan lab:  Gisele with postdoc Manny Ortega, Luis with postdoc Paty Feliciano and grad student Steve Cohen, Songela and Santi with grad student Lindsey Backman, and Dallas with grad student David Born.

Congratulations to these promising young scientists!
